Occult General

Occult Generals are a very uncommon zombie boss. They are very powerful and can summon entire hordes of enemies on a whim. They usually appear as the final boss on the final chapter of an episode. One of these enemies are the main antagonist of the first episode.

Traits[]

The Occult General is an enemy spirit. It appears in the second and fifth mission of the first game, and on the final mission of the second game. He ascends through the ground as a spirit, floats in the air and is stationary throughout his appearance. Whenever the player manages to destroy all the skulls orbiting him, he turns corporeal and becomes vulnerable to headshots. Each subsequent headshot increases the difficulty of enemies faced in the battle against him. He is defeated after 3 headshots, where he sinks back into the ground, cursing the player as he goes.

He is an SS commander by the looks of his black uniform and is transparent during most of the time. He possesses a skull for a face with flaming eyes.

He will spawn a variety of zombies including the standard zombies , skeletons , suicide grunts, and elites

Tactics[]

  • It is wise to attempt any mission featuring the Occult General with two or more players due to the vast amount of zombies the General spawns however it is very much possible to defeat it solo.
  • Try to focus on shooting down the skulls that orbit him, and when he transforms into his corporeal form, keep shooting him in the head until he screams and loses health. While not the be-all-end-all, any semi-automatic rifle is well suited for this task owing to their fast fire rates and large magazine sizes.
  • The hordes spawned by the General are only really a threat if they get to close to you, however later waves tend to include Super Elites and Fire Demons, so be prepared for them and relocate periodically to buy yourself space and time.

Trivia[]

  • Aside from the addition of SS-style collar tabs to the uniform and a skull with flaming eyes for a head, the Occult General's character model is a simple re-texture of Hitler's Sniper Elite V2 model.
  • Four Occult Generals exist in Zombie Army Trilogy, of which three are actually fought by the player. Twice in The Berlin Horror, once in Back to Berlin, and once in Back to Berlin. The fourth one appears as a part of an easter egg referencing Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark in the level Army of Darkness in Beyond Berlin.
